It has been a cold, wet and exciting week. We have visited so many places in Oregon. Our rental home was walking distance to OSU campus which has breath taking fall foliage. We enjoyed several walks on campus grounds. We spent quite a bit of time on the coast. I will surely miss Oregon and wish I could have more time here.
We drove to Tillamook Creamery which was fun. It was very quiet too which makes it nice to see everything. We enjoyed ice cream and bought lots of cheese to bring home. From there we drove up to Lincoln City and played on the beach. Unfortunately. we did not find any hidden glass treasures on the beach. We visited the Christmas Cottage. Wow! The place to go for anything Christmas.
The next day we drove to Thors Well, Devils Churn, and Heceta Head Lighthouse. The views are breath taking. For some reason on this day the rains of Oregon were not on our side, we would get out of the car with no rain and just as we were at the furthest point from our car it would downpour. This was worth the drive it was a true phenomenal of nature. It is hard to describe in words.
Finally, we went to Astoria the place where The Goonies come from. Wow! It was like I was 11 years old again and literally in the movie. We visited Goonies, Data, and Mouths house. We saw the field where they filmed the cheerleaders, the coffee shop, the pizza place, bowling alley, and yes, the jail! The jail is now the Oregon Flim Museum. This was the height of the Oregon trip for me.
My next blog post will be about Bend Oregon and Idaho. Have a Great Veterans Day and weekend. Remember to honor our veterans. * SIDE NOTE ANY INDOOR ATTRACTIONS ONLY ALLOW SERVICE DOGS* THEY ARE EXTREMELY STRICT IN OREGON SIGNS EVERYWHERE
We are spending our last day relaxing and enjoying the fall weather before continuing our adventure to Bend, Oregon to see Last Blockbuster and to Idaho. Zelda Sayre has been a trooper; we have had super long drives with windy roads. She has been a constant support and we have accomplished many things already along the way that I was not sure we would be successful at. Every day, she continues to amaze me. As for Lambeau is happy at home with his hooman siblings, I am pretty sure he is enjoying all the undivided attention.
Have a Barktastic Week. Remember to give your furry family members lots of attention you are their entire world. ~Charley
